Here are some useful tips for recording vocals:

• The room should be acoustically dead — all effects should be added at a later stage
• Headphones with minimum leakage should be used
• A long trailing reverb used temporarily on the headphones would help the vocalist sense the correct pitch and may add more energy in his performance
